Yesterday, we drove down to Oregon to pay our respects to Heather's Uncle Wes, who passed away unexpectedly last week. It's still hard to believe he's really gone, and that the next time we get together with the family, he won't be there. As so very well put by cousin Jessica's husband, Jay, Uncle Wes was a man who was misunderstood some of the time, and kind of grumpy most of the time, but you could sense that he loved those around him. For any of you who knew him, you'd you probably agree that his assessment describes Uncle Wes to a T. Uncle Wes will be greatly missed. Please keep Aunt Judie in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
On a lighter note, we were very impressed with Brecken yesterday, considering he spent roughly 7 hours in the car! He slept nearly the whole ride down and only really got cranky during the last hour or so of the trip home. He was also very well behaved during the service, although got a little chatty towards the end, so daddy took him out into the hall.
