Brecken's First Easter

Yesterday we celebrated Easter by having Uncle Andy and Aunt Stacey over for brunch. Not only was it Brecken's first Easter, but sadly it was Breck's first real fever/illness too. The poor guy barely stuck it out for a small meal and playtime before we had to put him back in bed. He was so out of it. Fortunately, he woke up this morning feeling MUCH better. Phew!

Of course we had sausage souffle- a Schwenk holiday tradition! I swear, the pictures don't to it justice. Thanks to chef Brian, the meal was AMAZING.

We tried to feed Brecken some souffle, but he wasn't in much of an eating mood... aside from nibbling on a piece of cantaloupe.

Playing with his Easter gift from Grandma and Grandpa Schwenk.

Aloha!

Last week I took my first trip without the little bear. It was a short, 4 day trip to Hawaii to surprise my good friend Elaine for her 30th birthday! I was so excited to see Elaine and her hubby, Dennis. We have missed them like CA-RAZY since they left the mainland a few years ago. Elaine is one of those amazing friends where it doesn't matter how long it's been, we always pick up right where we left off like no time has passed at all. Although I missed the boys, I couldn't have possibly had a better time. Such a good time, in fact, that Brian was super jealous and decided it would probably be a good idea to visit them again in June. I would have to say that's a brilliant plan. :-)

Isn't their house adorable?! Even their doorbell is way CUTE. Oh, and notice Diamond Head in background? Pretty cool, eh?

Christina, on the left, is another good friend of Elaine's who flew out from San Francisco to surprise her. We had such a blast together. Only wish I had more pics of the three of us!

So serious! Probably contemplating how to get the camera out of his face.

Out On The Farm

This past weekend we made a little trip out to Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue to check out the picnic space as a potential venue for Brecken's first birthday party. Yes, I said it. Brecken's first birthday party. Not only is it creeping up quick, but I was floored to learn that parks are already booking up FAST for summer birthdays! While we were there, we really enjoyed showing Brecken all of the farm animals. We saw a cow, a giant pig and her piglets, ducks, rabbits, horses, and sheep. He really got a kick out of hearing them make all their funny sounds! The trip to KCF was also quite nostalgic for me since it was the meeting spot for my 4H (rabbit) group as a kid. I also assisted with teaching a children's horseback riding summer camp there AGES ago. Anyways, it's a fun little park and we definitely plan on taking Brecken there more often.

The cow moo'd at Brecken and he thought it was just the funniest thing!
