Sweet Kicks

Check out these boots! Aren't they ADORABLE?! Our wonderful friends, Kathy and Max, are so kind to lend us the clothes that their little man, Lincoln, outgrows- including these sweet fireman boots. So cool!

Round of Applause, Please?

He claps! Well, he actually started clapping his hands about two weeks ago, but now whenever we get excited about something he does (usually prompted by "YAY, Brecken!") he will applaud himself. :-)

Lunchtime Antics

As of lately, Brecken has discovered that mealtimes provide the perfect opportunity to test mommy and daddy. For example...

Grabs a fist full of food

(NOTE: with greater speed and enthusiasm the more irritated mommy and daddy appear)

Drops food on floor

Looks up to make sure that mommy (or daddy) noticed

Giggles when reprimanded. The more serious mom/dad appear, the bigger the smile.

aaand REPEAT... (until physically removed from the high chair)

Truth be told, the REAL test isn't our patience, it's trying not to let him see us laugh. Let's face it, it's pretty stinkin' cute.... for now.

And the experts say children don't start testing their parents until 18 months. Hmmm.....?

Picturin' Birthdays and Babies: Part II

Meet Emelia Grace! Last weekend I had the privilege of photographing the newborn portraits for this little sweetie. Emelia's mommy, Angie, and I were great friends and sorority roommates back in the good ole college days, which made it an extra special treat to photograph her. Future AXO?? I think so! Let's just hope that she doesn't get into nearly as much trouble as her mommy and I!

Picturin' Birthdays and Babies

As most of you probably know, my interest in photography has evolved into a full blown OBSESSION. Hard to spot me these days without a baby on one hip and a beefy camera on the other! Seriously. I've also had the awesome opportunity to photograph other people, most recently an AMAZING birthday party and a newborn session, with other shoots on the horizon. Pretty cool stuff. We'll see how this photography thing plays out in terms of growing into an actual business- for now I am quite content capturing sweet and special moments for people, while building my portfolio. On that note, I thought I'd share some pics from my recent shoots.

Below is an absolutely incredible birthday party I got to shoot for my friend Michelle. She and her daughter, Sammy, are in both our PEPS and BCC mom-n-me groups with us! This circus-themed birthday was for her now 3-year-old daughter, Jenna, and let me tell ya- it was UNreal. Michelle is a phenomenal party planner. She pulled out all the stops and didn't overlook any details. We're talking real ponies, a clown, face painter, snow cone machine, hot dog cooker, giant popcorn popper (is that what they call those things?), an insane candy bar, bounce house, yadda yadda... you get the idea! Needless to say, Jenna had every little girls' DREAM birthday party! Also, ever seen a more ADORABLE birthday girl?! Didn't think so. Alright, enough writing. Enjoy!
