This year we decided to celebrate New Years with some friends up at the cabin in rural Idaho. Little did we know what an adventure we were in for! As we headed closer and closer to the cabin, Brian was super bummed because it appeared that there wouldn't be enough snow for snowmobiling. Well that soon changed when we turned onto the main drive towards the cabin and we were faced with over two feet of fresh snow! Suddenly snowmobiling wasn't an issue, but getting to the cabin was. After driving the truck in as far as it could go, Brian unloaded his sled and started making his way towards the cabin, in the hopes of creating enough tracks for the truck. About 30 minutes later he returned with bad news- there were a bunch of down trees and there was no way we were going to get in with the truck. Five hours later (during which our friends, the Harsila's, showed up) there were finally enough tracks that we were comfortable sledding in without the risk of getting stuck, which was super important with the little guy on board- and not to mention our friend Brittany is preggers. Talk about lots of precious cargo! We never planned on putting Brecken on the back of a sled at such a young age, but with no other way to get him to the cabin, we suited him up in his snow clothes and strapped him on tightly to the front of me in his baby bjorn. To Brian's delight, Brecken enjoyed every minute of it as he looked around wide-eyed at everything passing by us. Boy were we relieved when we finally reached the cabin late that evening. What a night!
FINALLY arriving!

Brecken is definitely a chip off the old block when it comes to snow. Brian loved it from the very beginning....
Haha. The apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree then. ;-)
